One of our favourite finds in HCMC was the ice cream coconut bowl from Kem Bach Dang. Think of a hollowed-out coconut filled with ice cream, dried fruit, chocolate sauce, and coconut cream. It was amazing!! They're so popular we saw two locations right across from each other and they were both packed!
Since a lot of businesses were closed for Tet, we think a lot of street vendors were also probably taking a break. There wasn't nearly as much street food options as Hanoi but we still managed to find some decent street food.
Tanya and Jason had a hotel right by the river with a prime spot for viewing the fireworks, so on new year's eve we went up to the roof and watched the fireworks. Afterwards, Jason and I had to fight the crowds to get back to our hotel. There were so many people on motorbikes that a lot of them eschewed the street and went on the sidewalk instead.
