Posted by Jason Cork was a nice break from the frenzy of Dublin. Although it is the second largest city in the Republic of Ireland, Cork's population is only 198,000 compared to 1.1 million in Dublin. We arrived in Cork on the 24th and called it an early night since there wasn't too much action on a Tuesday, which was never the case in Dublin. In Dublin the streets were packed with people every day of the week.

Posted by Karbo On the 19th we drove back to Belfast from Derry and took a Megabus to Dublin. Once in Dublin, we asked 3 different bus drivers for directions to our Airbnb neighbourhood and all 3 gave conflicting advice. Maybe it was us, but we found the transit system in Dublin pretty confusing and the lack of transit directions on Google didn't help!
Posted by Jason *The city goes by two names: Derry and Londonderry. Centuries of conflict between the British and the Irish resulted in the name of the city bouncing back and forth a few times. Now it is recognized as both. For the sake of simplicity and my laziness, we will refer to it as Derry for the blog. After passing through about 30 roundabouts on the highway, we finally made it from the Giant's Causeway to Derry in late afternoon of the 16th. Our Airbnb host was unable to vacate the room we booked so he gave us a complimentary upgrade to another one of his properties – a riverfront modern apartment overlooking River Foyle, all to ourselves!
Posted by Karbo We know we're falling behind on the posts! Sorry mom! From Scotland to Northern Ireland we had 3 days of non-stop hopping around.
