Our Blog
This is our first time blogging so please be patient as we try to figure everything out while we're travelling!
How We Met
We first met in passing early in high school through Karbo's older brother, Joe. We were re-introduced 3 years later when a newly-single Karbo went to pick up Joe from a party at Jason's house. After ignoring a few phone calls from Jason, Karbo finally agreed to a date; 5 years later, we got engaged!
Our RTW Trip
We became engaged in September 2012 and started thinking about wedding planning. Talks about our wedding led to talks about our future, which is where we drew a blank. We weren't sure if we were ready to settle permanently in Vancouver just yet.
In 2013, we decided to use our wedding savings to fund a year of travel. We also took on part-time jobs, sacrificed our social lives, and basically became hermits in order to save up for our year abroad. In August 2013, we left our jobs and began our journey.

About Jason
I love sports. Basketball, golf, snowboarding, tennis...you name it! And if I haven't tried it, I'll give it a shot. If I suck at it I'll also be the first one to admit it :)
I'm an eater and a drinker. Not a foodie but I'm always venturing for the best food (these days best cheap food) in town. Not an alcoholic but I love trying new beer, wine, cocktails, and whiskey. Cheers!
Working in the hotel industry for 9 years has allowed me to meet people from different parts of the world and I would always be fascinated about where they had come from and tell them how I look forward to traveling there one day. Well, that day has come, and this RTW trip is a dream come true. I hope you enjoy our blog and that it inspires you (even just a little) to go on your own adventure!

About Karbo
Born in Hong Kong, I moved to West Vancouver at the age of 1. While I think I've done my fair share of travelling, the longest I've been away from my home and family prior to our RTW trip was only 6 weeks! I grew up in Vancouver, went to school in Vancouver, and after receiving my undergraduate degree, spent 3 years articling at a professional services firm in Vancouver.
About Dino
Dino is my Cavalier and partner in crime. By "crime" I mainly mean naps. He's probably the hardest part about leaving Vancouver (leaving my family is hard too, but we'll have Skype and FaceTime). Our moms will tag-team taking care of Dino while we're away, so I have a feeling he'll be spoiled rotten and a few pounds heavier by the time we're back.
